FRANZ WEST (1947–2012)
West created interactive sculptures called Adaptives, designed to be handled, breaking the passive role of the viewer. With his quirky, lumpy forms and casual materials, he blurred high art and absurdity. His works are in the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and the Belvedere in Vienna.

"It doesn’t matter what the art looks like but how it’s used."
